I've been getting into a lot more photography lately. As much as my little Sony P93 will allow anyway. I used to do photography a lot years ago, but stopped to concentrate more on my hand-drawn skills. I guess the cycle is turning back the other way again. I've always liked the instant gratification you can get with photography, while still utilising all the artistic and creative disciplines every artist must possess.

I also think I'm returning to photography to not only re-invent myself as an artist, but to also stop myself from burning out creatively in my hand-drawn work. Doing art for a living and not for pleasure has taken most of the enjoyment out of it and I am close to packing away my pencils for ever. Which I don't want to do.

Photography is something I can use creatively and personally and not have to care about demand, commissions, or client fault-finding. Photography I do just for me. I hope that it will help me to bring my art back to being just for me too.

Because in my life... well, it's all about me really, isn't it?
